Youth & Family Ministry

Youth and Family Ministry at GLC initiates and supports faith exploration for children, youth, and families through building authentic relationships, empowering youth leadership, living out service & generosity, encouraging invitational inclusivity, and celebrating milestones.

Sunday School

After worship, we have Sunday school as an opportunity for age & developmentally appropriate faith exploration and discovery. Children engage in interactive activities while learning major Bible stories and themes. In our Affirm Middle School Ministry, activity engage the roots of our faith and what it means for us. Our High School Youth decide what topics they’d like to dive deeper into discussing as they journey toward being young adults in the world.

Childern & Families

Children are an integral part of our community, and children of all ages are welcome in our worship. Families with young children will appreciate the corner of the sanctuary with lots of hands-on activities for children to engage in during worship. We offer numerous all-ages events throughout the year to engage children and families together into our community, such as game nights, potlucks, singing carols around a campfire, intergenerational crafts, and more! We seek to provide resources to equip families to grow in faith together.

Affirm (6th to 8th Grade Ministry)

Affirm meets on Sunday mornings after worship! Through music, games, skits and projects we engage in exploring different themes to learn more about the Bible, what It we believe as Lutheran followers of Jesus, and what it all means for us as we head back out into the world. Other weeks we hear faith stories from people in our congregation and can ask them questions … or live out our mission to love God and love people through hands-on service projects … or even just hangout to have fun together. We also have youth events throughout the year for service and fun!

Sr. High Youth Ministry

Our high school youth look beyond our walls: gathering with youth from other congregations to have fun or serve our community throughout the year. On Sunday mornings our Sr. High Youth meet after worship, and even those conversations don’t shy away from real questions about our place in the world we live.

Vacation Bible School

VBS week is always a highlight of the summer at GLC. Each evening begins with a free meal followed by a couple hours of music, crafts, scripture. VBS wouldn’t be made possible without our dedicated volunteers, and it is great opportunity for our families to get grow in faith together!
