What to Expect

Because Jesus welcomed all people, we are dedicated to welcoming all people of every race, culture, belief, national origin, gender, gender identity, age, marital status, family structure, sexual orientation, economic circumstance and physical or mental ability.

All truly means ALL at Gethsemane.

Worship at GLC

Worship on Sundays is at 9:30 am in our sanctuary. The service is also available via livestream through our YouTube Channel.

Vibrant worship is a core value at Gethsemane.  We believe worship is the primary way to engage God in community, to hear God’s Word, to be fed at Jesus’s table, and filled with the Holy Spirit to go out into the world to share God’s love with others.

Worship at Gethsemane is grounded in the traditional expressions of Lutheran liturgy, music, and prayer. At the same time, it is expansive in its embrace of more contemporary music compositions and variety of instrumentation and style. In both ancient and modern ways, we enjoy worship that is faithfully Christ-centered.

We pray that worship at Gethsemane fills you with renewed hope & joy.

Welcoming

We know being new isn’t always easy. At the main entrance (off Stanton Ave.) you will find greeters ready to help you find your way around the building, direct you to the restrooms, and answer any questions you may have.

In the main gathering space you will be greeted by a friendly face ready to welcome you and answer any questions you might have! In the main gathering space our Welcome Center will be staffed by a friendly volunteer who will have a small gift to express how glad we are to have you with us and can help answer any questions you might have!

Communion

We celebrate Holy Communion every Sunday at GLC. All are invited to participate in the sacrament and share the bread and wine. We believe that the gifts of God are free and available to all.

We offer both bread and gluten free options, along with wine and grape juice. Simply indicate to the communion assistants which you prefer, and they are happy to accommodate your needs.

Childern Are Embraced at GLC

We welcome and value children of all ages at GLC, and are eager to include them in worship. We know kids make noise. That’s awesome! It’s the kind of noise we like to hear.

For families with young children, there is a Children’s Worship Space located in the front-left section of the Sanctuary stocked with books, coloring activities, puzzles, and soft toys. It is always lively and buzzing with energy and creativity!

Come As You Are

Some folks at Gethsemane wear t-shirts and jeans, others wear suits and dresses. Wear whatever is comfortable for you. God doesn’t care what you’re wearing, and neither do we!

People Make An Offering

A part of our service includes people supporting the mission of our church by giving an offering. This is completely voluntary and done as a way to express gratitude to God for the many blessings in our lives.
