Four years ago Jean Beauzil secured a Visa to travel to the US from his native Haiti. His plan was to work and earn money for his family while having a respite from the awful situation in Haiti. While here, Temporary Protected Status (TPS) was granted to Haitian all immigrants, allowing them to work and remain here through Feb. 2026. In Haiti, Jean was a social worker, leading a government team doing outreach and support for orphans and others in need. Here he was working the assembly line at Honda. In September his right leg was injured and has still not healed. That made him unable to do his job so he was released. Jean has diabetes and several other significant chronic medical issues that have recently been diagnosed. He has incurred about $6,000 in medical bills plus has on-going appointments, supplies and prescriptions. We invite you to join us at 6pm on Saturday, Feb. 22, at 6:00pm for a delicious spaghetti dinner to raise money for Jean’s medical bills. Invite your friends and neighbors! If you’d like to help prepare, set up or clean up for the dinner, please sign up in the Narthex or email Doug Kirsop.
