Carol Klukas travelled to Malawi in southern Africa this summer with World Vision, a Christian humanitarian relief and development organization, to observe firsthand development projects funded through the US Agency for International Development (USAID). Lutheran World Relief, which Gethsemane supports directly, is a very similar Christian humanitarian relief and development organization. Carol will share what she saw and learned about just how powerful foreign assistance can be in transforming the lives of people around the world who live in poverty. Non-governmental organizations (NGO’s) like World Vision and Lutheran World Relief work as implementing partners with USAID on development projects that truly accomplish God’s work!
