“Honoring Our Neighbor’s Faith – A Lutheran Perspective on Faith Traditions in America”
Hundreds of Christian denominations and dozens of non-Christian traditions have followers in the United States. How do we view this wide variety of beliefs and practices? How does the Lutheran tradition compare with others?
Honoring Our Neighbor’s Faith, Revised Edition (Augsburg Press) brings new light and nuance to these questions, which are as timely and vital as ever. On Sunday mornings during May and June, Pastor T.J. will use this resource to help us explore several of the faith traditions in the wide spectrum of beliefs in America. Each session will focus on one tradition, learning about its key teachings, worship patterns and practices and how it is governed.
These are the faith traditions we will explore:
May 11th Roman Catholic Church
May 18th Jehovah’s Witness
June 1st Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints
June 15th Islam
June 29th Hinduism
